A milk truck with failed brakes collided with 12 vehicles and motorcycles at a toll booth in Colombia on Wednesday, killing five people and injuring 21 others.

The crash occurred at the Casablanca toll booth, located between the municipalities of Zipaquirá and Ubaté in Cundinamarca department, approximately 50 kilometers from Bogotá. The incident happened on the eve of Holy Week.

The milk truck struck vehicles and motorcycles that were waiting in line to pass through the toll booth. The impact triggered fires in multiple vehicles, including at least one motorcycle, one pickup truck, and two private cars, which exploded due to the force of the collision.

Video footage from the scene showed the overturned milk truck engulfed in flames with twisted metal debris scattered across the roadway. Several other vehicles were similarly consumed by fire following the impact.

Initial reports confirmed two fatalities, but the death toll rose to five in the hours following the accident. Twenty-one people sustained injuries from the crash. Authorities did not provide additional details about the condition of the injured or the cause of the brake failure at the time of reporting.
