Brazilian influencer dies after falling from 27th floor in Dubai

Brazilian digital influencer Kauana Bilhar, 26, died after falling from the 27th floor of a building in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Tuesday, July 7. Her death was confirmed by her mother, Darla Bilhar, on social media.

Kauana was a native of Passo Fundo in Rio Grande do Sul who moved to São Paulo earlier this year to pursue a modeling career. There she met her girlfriend, Bárbara Arantes, also a model. The two had been together for just over three months before deciding to move to Dubai together, according to family accounts.

Local police are investigating the circumstances of her death. Investigators have not ruled out homicide, femicide, or suicide as possible causes. Forensic experts worked at the apartment where Kauana was staying to collect evidence and provide details to the investigation.

Kauana's mother told TV Record that her daughter fell from the 27th floor of the building where she lived with her girlfriend. In a statement on social media, Darla Bilhar ruled out the possibility of suicide. "She had a great thirst for life, a lot. I cannot believe that my daughter took her own life," the mother said, adding that she needs the circumstances to be clarified so she can find peace.

Darla Bilhar also appealed for respect for her daughter's memory on social media, noting that Kauana's Instagram profile was receiving malicious and false comments about the young woman. The mother said she does not enjoy public exposure and did not wish to be in the spotlight.
