Leonid Radvinsky, owner of OnlyFans, has died at age 43 after a long battle with cancer, the company announced Monday. He passed away peacefully, according to a statement from OnlyFans, which asked for privacy for his family.
Radvinsky, a Ukrainian-American entrepreneur, acquired Fenix International, the company that owns and operates OnlyFans, in 2018 from its two UK-based founders. He remained a director and majority shareholder at the company until his death.
Founded in 2016, OnlyFans is a social media platform where creators post videos and photos and charge subscribers through tips or monthly fees. While creators share a range of content including cooking and fitness videos, the platform is best known for adult content and for facilitating direct connections between creators and fans through livestreams, personalised messages, and custom content requests.
The platform's popularity surged during the Covid-19 pandemic. By 2021, just three years after Radvinsky's acquisition, he appeared on Forbes' annual list of billionaires.
Radvinsky was born in Ukraine and grew up in Chicago. Despite his billionaire status, he maintained a notably low public profile throughout his life. His cancer battle was largely unknown to the public.
Radvinsky was a prominent donor to medical causes. In 2024, he and his wife were major supporters of a $23 million grant program for cancer research through a gastrointestinal research foundation, according to reports.
