Carlo Ancelotti's contract renewal as coach of Brazil's national team is approaching finalization, according to CBF president Samir Xaud. The Italian manager's new agreement remains pending only "bureaucratic and legal adjustments" before it can be signed, Xaud said Tuesday at the CBF headquarters following a presentation by La Liga president Javier Tebas.

Ancelotti, who assumed the role in May 2025, is on track to become Brazil's coach through the 2030 World Cup. The tournament will be held primarily in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, with inaugural matches in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay to commemorate the competition's centennial.

Xaud emphasized the CBF's preference for a long-term approach rather than immediate results. "What we want, as I always say, is nothing immediate, but rather a work of construction," Xaud stated. "We believe that one year is very little to develop work that bears fruit and results."

Negotiations for the contract renewal began in early October and advanced through the final months of 2025. Ancelotti has responded positively to the terms offered by the CBF, and officials expressed optimism that the agreement will be formalized soon.

Xaud reiterated confidence in Ancelotti's work with the national team. "We have the best raw material in the world regarding the coach; we have to take advantage of that, this time he has here in Brazil with the Brazilian national team. I believe very much in the work he has been doing with the Brazilian national team," Xaud said.
