Sebastián Holguín, a 20-year-old Colombian rider, won the Red Bull Valparaíso Cerro Abajo 2026 on Sunday, claiming his first victory in the iconic urban downhill competition. Holguín completed the course in 2:15.432 minutes, earning the title of "Rey del Puerto" (King of the Port).
The Colombian dominated both practice sessions and qualifying rounds ahead of the main event. Adrien Loron of France finished second on the podium, with Chilean competitor Felipe Agurto placing third.
A camera mounted on Holguín's helmet captured his winning descent in first-person perspective, recording the speed at which he navigated the Valparaíso circuit. The footage documented his line through the urban course as he secured the victory.
After crossing the finish line, Holguín celebrated emotionally, expressing disbelief at his win. "I didn't believe it," he said, according to reports. The rider thanked the Chilean public for their support during the competition. His family surprised him by celebrating his triumph at Plaza Aníbal Pinto in Valparaíso.
The Red Bull Valparaíso Cerro Abajo is held annually in the port city and draws international competitors to race down the steep urban terrain of the historic neighborhood.
