The final of the Copa Libertadores between Brazilian clubs Palmeiras and Flamengo was postponed by 15 minutes on Saturday at the Monumental Stadium in Lima, Peru, CONMEBOL announced.

The match, which was initially scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. Brasília time, was delayed after the Palmeiras team bus took longer than anticipated to complete the journey from the team hotel to the venue.

The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) confirmed the decision to push back the kickoff time. The delay was implemented to accommodate the late arrival of the team and ensure both clubs had adequate time for pre-match preparations ahead of the continent's most prestigious club tournament.

The final pits two of Brazil's top teams against each other. According to authorities, the winner of the contest will make history by becoming the first Brazilian club to secure the Copa Libertadores title four times. The Monumental Stadium in Lima served as the venue for the single-match final.
