A 17-year-old boy died Wednesday after being shot in the head in East New York, Brooklyn, police said.
The shooting occurred outside 514 New Lots Ave. around 8:20 p.m. The teen was transported to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity has not been released.
Police said no further details have been provided regarding the incident, and it remains unclear what led up to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
In a separate incident less than half a mile away, two teenage girls were stabbed around 8:30 p.m. at 817 Van Siclen Ave., also in East New York. A 13-year-old and a 15-year-old were both taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition. Police told authorities that the shooting and stabbing are believed to be unrelated at this time.
