A Liverpool karate instructor is accused of using dark web sites to obtain sexually explicit images and videos of children, according to a federal criminal complaint filed August 10.
The complaint names Theron Feidt as the accused. According to authorities, the investigation began June 9 after the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received a cyber tip. The tip alleged that Feidt used a Cash App account to purchase access to a dark web site containing child sexual abuse material.
The FBI received supporting evidence from Block, Inc., which owns Cash App, on July 28. Investigators determined that Feidt had verified the Cash App account in order to purchase the material. According to the complaint, Feidt used his driver's license to verify the account.
The Cash App account was used to access what authorities refer to as "Dark Website 1" and "Dark Website 2." The FBI investigated both websites as part of the inquiry.
