Trapper Tony Boy, whose legal name is Antonio Hueber, was interrogated at San Vittore prison in Milan following his arrest Saturday. The 26-year-old faced questioning before Judge Chiara Valori on charges of drug trafficking and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
The arrest occurred after police conducted a check in Piazza Ferravilla in the Città Studi district of Milan early Saturday morning. Officers noticed a stationary sport utility vehicle with two occupants and requested identification. The individuals exited the vehicle and moved toward a nearby residence, where police subsequently conducted a search.
During the search of his apartment, authorities recovered drugs and a pistol with an obliterated serial number. Hueber livestreamed the police operation on Instagram to his approximately one million followers, narrating the search as it unfolded. The broadcast resulted in an additional charge of unlawful data processing for disclosing the faces and voices of police officers without consent.
Prosecutor Sara Ombra requested that Hueber be held in custody pending trial, arguing in her submission to the judge that there exist "serious indications of guilt" and "concrete and current danger of commission of serious crimes involving the use of weapons or other means of personal violence." The prosecutor stated that custody in prison was "the only adequate and proportionate measure."
Following the interrogation, Judge Valori was tasked with deciding whether to validate the arrest and rule on the prosecutor's request for pretrial detention. The judge was also to evaluate Hueber's circumstances and any necessary precautionary measures.
