Two men were slashed with a machete in the Fordham neighborhood of the Bronx early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The attack occurred around 3 a.m. at 2310 Walton Avenue near East 183rd Street. According to the NYPD, the men got into an argument with a homeless man while walking home on Walton Avenue.
A 39-year-old man was slashed on his left hand. A 34-year-old man was slashed on his head. Both were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital and are in stable condition, officials said.
The attack was captured on surveillance video. Police said a heavy law enforcement response was deployed to the scene as daylight arrived.
The suspect fled the scene. Authorities have not released a description of a possible suspect, and no arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning.
It is not clear what prompted the initial argument between the men and the suspect. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
