Woman arrested after three-wheeled motorcycle hits crowd in Brooklyn park

A 53-year-old driver lost control of a motorcycle and struck 13 people at Commodore Barry Park on Sunday evening, leaving four in critical condition.

A three-wheeled motorcycle crashed into a crowd gathered at Commodore Barry Park in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn just before 7 p.m. on Sunday, injuring 13 people, four of them in critical condition.

Police identified the driver as 53-year-old Nisha Atkinson. According to authorities, Atkinson and an unidentified male passenger were riding the motorcycle when she lost control and veered into the crowd.

Atkinson was taken into police custody at the scene. She faces multiple charges including Reckless Endangerment, Reckless Driving, Failure to Yield, and Improperly Licensed.

Of the 13 injured victims, four were reported in critical condition while nine sustained other injuries. Emergency responders treated the injured at the park.

Authorities said they are actively investigating the cause of the crash. The incident disrupted the Sunday evening gathering at the park in the densely populated Brooklyn neighborhood.
