UFC President and CEO Dana White confirmed Tuesday that he has met with the FBI regarding allegedly suspicious betting activity surrounding a featherweight bout at UFC Vegas 110 on Saturday.
The scrutiny centers on the fight between Isaac Dulgarian, who entered as the heavy favorite, and underdog Yadier del Valle. Dulgarian ultimately lost the contest via a first-round rear-naked choke submission.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, White said the UFC was alerted to the unusual wagering hours before the event by IC360, the promotion's sports betting watchdog integrity partner. IC360 flagged that the underdog, del Valle, was attracting a high volume of bets to win, alongside specific wagers placed on a first-round finish.
White stated that upon receiving the alert, the organization immediately contacted the fighter and his legal counsel.
"We called the fighter and his lawyer and said, what's going on? There's some weird betting action going on in your fight," White recounted. "Are you injured? Do you owe anybody money? Has anybody approached you?"
According to White, Dulgarian, an up-and-coming grappler with a 7-1 record entering the night, denied any issues. "The kid said, 'No, absolutely not. I'm going to kill this guy.' So we said OK."
Following the unexpected outcome (a first-round submission loss for the favorite) White said the UFC took immediate action.
"Literally, the first thing we did was call the FBI," White said, confirming that he met with the federal law enforcement agency twice on Tuesday to discuss the matter.
The incident marks a potential second betting scandal for the Ultimate Fighting Championship in the last three years. The organization has increasingly relied on integrity partners like IC360 to monitor the growing volume of legal sports betting surrounding its events.
While the investigation is ongoing, Dulgarian's coach has publicly denied any involvement in gambling allegations.
