A private petroleum company reached an agreement with the Trump administration to develop 17 areas across Venezuela's oil fields, according to officials and energy analysts. The deal, announced last week, positions North American Blue Energy Partners as a key operator in some of Venezuela's most significant petroleum basins.
North American Blue Energy Partners, identified as the second-largest private oil producer in Venezuela, will have the opportunity to substantially expand its operations under the arrangement. The company's expanded scope covers multiple production areas within the country's major oil-bearing regions.
Experts said that significantly increasing production from these 17 areas will require substantial investment and considerable time. The development effort is expected to involve billions of dollars and span multiple years before meaningful output increases materialize.
Approximately half of the 17 designated areas are located within Venezuela's principal petroleum basins, according to available information about the agreement's geographic distribution.
