Charlie Sheen and his father Martin Sheen will star together as father and son in "Happy Jack," a new sitcom coming to AMC in 2027, the network announced.
Charlie Sheen, 61, will play Jack Chambers, described as a man who has never quite gotten his life on track. The character is also referred to as an inveterate slacker with two daughters: Kate, who runs the family business, and the rebellious Sam.
Martin Sheen will portray the grandfather credited with ensuring his granddaughters are "wonderful." The series will explore Jack's journey as he confronts a decision about whether to continue thinking only of himself or seize a final opportunity to be part of his daughters' lives.
The first season will consist of six half-hour episodes. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2027 in Los Angeles and will be filmed with a live audience at Warner Bros. studios in Burbank.
For Charlie Sheen, "Happy Jack" marks his first leading role in a sitcom since "Anger Management," which ran for 100 episodes between 2012 and 2014. He previously starred in "Two and a Half Men" from 2003 to 2011.
For Martin Sheen, the series represents his first major television role since "Grace and Frankie," the Netflix production in which he appeared from 2015 to 2022.
The plot involves Sam bringing home her new boyfriend, described as a former investment banker turned life guru living in a van, which creates conflict with Jack as the two men are the same age.
