Maria Tsioli, a 29-year-old Greek filmmaker, was among three people killed in a traffic accident on Alexandra Avenue in Athens in the early hours of Tuesday, September 1.
Tsioli had already established herself in the film industry, with her work screened at major international festivals. She was preparing to begin production on a new film titled "Passage" scheduled for autumn, which would have been shot primarily in the Megala Vrangiania area of Agrafa in central Greece.
The Agrafa municipal authority had committed to supporting the production of "Passage" and indicated plans to assist in completing the film as originally designed.
Following Tsioli's death, her family, friends, and professional collaborators have pledged to finish the film in her memory. The Agrafa municipality stated its intention to help ensure the project is completed according to its original plan.
Tsioli's work had been presented at significant international film festivals, and she had participated in major cinematographic programs and festivals prior to her death.
