In his book "Betrayal," published earlier this year, author Tom Bower details the late Queen's final moments on September 8, 2022. That morning, Bower writes, King Charles had been informed by telephone that his mother was seriously ill and immediately travelled by helicopter to Balmoral Castle, her residence in Scotland, where she had retreated during her final weeks.
The Sussexes responded to the claims in Bower's book by accusing the author of "fixation" and "crossing a line."
