Sarah Toscano makes acting debut in Netflix film "Non abbiam bisogno di parole"

Sarah Toscano, known as a singer, is making her acting debut in the Netflix film "Non abbiam bisogno di parole," which arrives on the platform April 3. The film was presented in Milan and marks a significant career shift for the young artist.

Directed by Luca Ribuoli and featuring Serena Rossi, the film centers on Eletta, a hearing girl born into a deaf family who discovers she possesses an extraordinary voice. The character faces a central conflict: pursuing her musical dreams or remaining close to her family. The story explores themes of music, identity, and family bonds.

Toscano described the experience as a substantial challenge. "It was a very big challenge," she said. "I was fortunate to have a team that supported me in preparing for Italian Sign Language and cinema. I received a lot of help, and that makes me proud." She emphasized the intensity of her preparation, which involved studying sign language and learning the craft of acting.

The film is part of Netflix Italy's 2026 content slate, which was presented in Rome during the "What Next?" event in January. Tinny Andreatta, vice president of Italian content, described the year as "a brilliant season, the result of a growth path and the charisma of the most beloved protagonists by the public." According to Andreatta, the platform is "bringing together its brightest stars, valuing the artistic journey of each one. The 2026 lineup includes series featuring actors such as Pierfrancesco Favino, Barbara Ronchi, Maya Sansa, Elodie, and Luca Zingaretti, alongside reality programming and anticipated returns, including the return of Zerocalcare. Andreatta emphasized that variety, quality, and ambition remain the pillars of the platform's offering. "Every project has high standards and the right amount of courage to push beyond creative boundaries," she stated.
