Ferrari announced today the name and interior design of its first fully electric sports car, called Luce—Italian for "light"—marking a new chapter for the Maranello-based manufacturer.

The presentation took place in San Francisco, where Ferrari collaborated with LoveFrom, a creative collective founded by Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson that has worked on the vehicle's design for five years. The choice of San Francisco reflected the city's status as a global hub for technology and user interface design.

According to Ferrari, Luce represents more than a new model; it embodies a philosophical shift for the brand. The name does not define a propulsion type but rather a vision of innovation: electrification as a means, not an end. The company stated that the vehicle unites Ferrari's racing heritage with the timeless spirit of its sports cars and contemporary mobility lifestyles.

The interior design reflects a minimalist approach developed jointly by Ferrari's design center, led by Flavio Manzoni, and LoveFrom. The cabin is conceived as a clean, ordered volume where hardware and software were developed in tandem. The design features essential lines and reduced controls to minimize distractions. A pivoting display at the center of the dashboard can be oriented toward either the driver or passenger. The integration of screens for driving information and infotainment with levers and controls represents a meeting point between innovation and craftsmanship.

Ferrari described the design philosophy as one of clarity and inspiration, reflecting the company's longstanding approach to innovation: uncompromising vision, clean design, and energy perceived in every detail, with form shaped by function.

The vehicle is a four-seat car. The complete design, including the exterior, will be revealed in May 2026 in Italy.
