Barcelona and PSG agree €50m deal for Ferran Torres

Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ferran Torres in the region of €50 million, with no add-ons included in the deal.

The two clubs have begun exchanging documentation and are working to finalize the transfer in the coming days. Torres, 26, is expected to travel to Paris on Thursday or Friday to undergo medical examinations before signing his contract with PSG, pending final approval from Barcelona for his departure.

Torres has been absent from Barcelona training for a second consecutive day as part of the agreement between the player and the club while the transfer details are being completed. The Spanish forward remains in Barcelona awaiting authorization to travel to the French capital.

Luis Enrique, PSG's head coach, has been instrumental in driving the transfer. Enrique previously gave Torres his first senior call-up for Spain in September 2020 and converted him into a regular fixture for the national team during his tenure as Spain's head coach, including at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

PSG is seeking to strengthen its attack following the departure of Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan. The club views Torres as a versatile forward capable of playing as a center forward or on either wing, a flexibility that aligns with the rotation system employed by Enrique.

Torres is coming off a successful World Cup campaign with Spain. He was primarily used as a substitute by head coach Luis de la Fuente and scored the winning goal in the 106th minute of the final against Argentina last month at MetLife Stadium.
