Goals for Brazil came from Vanderson in the third minute, Raphinha from a penalty kick in the 45th minute, Bruno Guimarães in the 69th minute, and Vinícius Júnior from another penalty in the 80th minute. Alessandro Circati scored for Australia in the 28th minute, with Connor Metcalfe adding a second in the 33rd minute.
Raphinha, who wore the captain's armband, converted a penalty in the final minute of the first half but was substituted at halftime due to right thigh discomfort. Coach Carlo Ancelotti replaced him with Endrick. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed the substitution but did not immediately disclose the full extent of the injury, stating it would provide updates following the match.
Raphinha had been selected as captain for the fixture following the absence of defender Marquinhos, who began the match on the bench. The 29-year-old, who also serves as captain for Barcelona, scored from the penalty spot despite the physical issue that led to his removal.
In the first half before his substitution, Raphinha was among Brazil's standout performers. He has maintained a direct goal participation streak across all matches since August, combining club and international play. With the goal against Australia, Raphinha reached 15 goals and four assists across ten matches this season, including seven Spanish league appearances, one Champions League match, and two Brazil internationals. In the previous Friday's match against Australia, he had also been decisive, delivering a corner kick that resulted in Rayan's goal in stoppage time.
