Manchester City advanced to the FA Cup final Saturday after a 2-1 comeback victory against Southampton in the semi-final at Wembley Stadium.

The match remained goalless through the first half, with City creating more chances. Southampton broke the deadlock in the 79th minute when Finn Azaz received the ball on his left foot approximately 25 yards from goal, turned, and struck a rising shot with his right foot that sailed past goalkeeper James Trafford into the top corner.

City responded immediately. Jeremy Doku equalized in the 82nd minute, and Nicolás González scored the winning goal in the 87th minute. González's strike came after Bernardo Silva, recently introduced by manager Pep Guardiola, tapped to Doku, who fed the midfielder. From outside Southampton's area on the left, González unleashed a rising shot that found the net.

Three goals were scored in eight minutes. Guardiola told the BBC after the match that the second-half performance was "extraordinary" and "really beautiful." He noted that when the wingers came on, they changed the pace of the game. Guardiola also praised González's initiative and mentality in his role as a holding midfielder, saying he "deserves it" after replacing Rodri.

The victory marks City's fourth consecutive FA Cup final appearance. The winner will face either Chelsea or Leeds, who play in the other semi-final.
