Macron's approval rating hits lowest point since 2017

Emmanuel Macron's approval rating has reached its lowest level since taking office in 2017, according to an Ipsos BVA-Cesi poll published Saturday, October 10.

The survey, conducted online from September 7 to 8, found that the French president's favorability stood at 15 percent, down one percentage point from the previous month when he had already recorded his lowest score at 16 percent.

The decline occurs amid student protests and rising fuel prices. According to the poll, French citizens' primary concerns center on purchasing power at 54 percent, the future of the country's social system at 44 percent, and national debt.

Macron's Prime Minister, by contrast, regained some ground following a sharp drop one month prior, the survey indicated.
