Authorities in a northern region have ordered an intensified campaign against Aedes mosquitoes across 19 districts, citing rising transmission risks as temperatures increase and summer travel season begins.
The deputy governor for political, security and social affairs issued directives to district administrators, mayors and local officials to execute preventive measures with urgency. Officials emphasized the need for executive agencies to prepare for controlling the mosquito population in affected districts.
District administrators, mayors and local officials were instructed to implement control measures and submit reports on actions taken to regional civil defense authorities and the regional medical university within 48 hours.
Officials noted that higher temperatures and the start of summer travel season increase the likelihood of disease transmission linked to Aedes mosquitoes. The mosquito can transmit viruses to other individuals after feeding on an infected person.
