Laura Pausini and Gianluca Grignani will cross paths at the Sanremo Music Festival 2026 following a public dispute that erupted last July, according to statements made by Pausini on Friday.
The conflict began when Pausini announced a cover version of Grignani's song "La Mia Storia Tra le Dita." Grignani responded sharply on social media, criticizing his colleague. The disagreement escalated into a broader controversy that at one point threatened legal action. As a result, the song was subsequently removed from Pausini's album "Io Canto 2."
At the Sanremo festival, Pausini will serve as co-host while Grignani will appear as a guest performer. He is scheduled to perform a duet with artist Luchè during the festival's fourth evening.
Speaking to Valerio Staffelli on the program Striscia la Notizia on Friday evening, Pausini expressed optimism about the upcoming encounter. She stated she was happy to present Grignani at the festival and indicated hope that the two artists would have an opportunity to resolve their differences at Sanremo. When asked about receiving a Tapiro d'Oro award, Pausini acknowledged that the dispute with Grignani was among several matters that could have prompted the recognition, but she emphasized her desire to clarify the situation with him during the festival.
