Levante takes the stage at the Sanremo Music Festival for the third time, following previous appearances in 2020 and 2023. She competes with "Sei Tu," an introspective ballad she wrote herself, marking a shift in tone from her earlier festival entries.
In an interview with Adnkronos, Levante described her emotional state ahead of the competition. "The state of mind is pure enthusiasm," she said. "I return because I would like to modify the last memory I have of my 2023 Sanremo, when I was at the mercy of too many emotions due to postpartum. Back then I was not conscious of what I was going through."
She reflected on that difficult period with distance and perspective. "Today, looking at that time with more distance, and without wanting to trivialize postpartum depression, I look at that difficulty with tenderness. I want to return to the Sanremo stage with enthusiasm, with a smile, which are things that distinguish me daily," Levante explained.
"Sei Tu" will appear on Levante's forthcoming album titled "Dell'amore il fallimento e altri passi di danza" (On Love, Failure, and Other Dance Steps), set for release in the coming months. The album focuses exclusively on failed love stories. "I tell of loves that ended or never blossomed: relationships that never started, one-night encounters, first summer loves," Levante said. "I had a lot of fun looking at the ending, or the non-beginning, from these perspectives."
The album includes previously released singles such as "MaiMai," "Niente da dire," "Dell'amore e il fallimento," and "Sono Blu." Following the festival, Levante will launch the "Dell'amore – Club Tour 2026" in April.
Beyond music, Levante has taken on an acting role. She will appear on Rai 1 on February 3 and 4 in the production "L'invisibile – La cattura di Matteo Messina Denaro," alongside actor Lino Guanciale.
Regarding a potential Eurovision appearance should she advance from Sanremo, Levante was definitive. "Eurovision? I would not go," she stated, making clear her focus remains on the domestic festival and her broader artistic projects.
