Lillo Petrolo, the Roman actor and comedian, will serve as co-host during the cover songs evening of the Sanremo Music Festival 2026, according to reports initially published by entertainment blog Cinemotore and confirmed by RAI sources.

The appearance is scheduled for Friday, February 27, when Petrolo will join festival host Carlo Conti and co-host Laura Pausini on the Ariston stage. The evening will be dedicated entirely to cover performances and classic hits from the past.

Petrolo, born Pasquale Petrolo in 1970, is an actor, comedian, musician, and author who has become one of the most recognizable figures in contemporary Italian comedy. His comedic style is characterized by surreal humor that oscillates between intelligent nonsense and meta-television irony.

While this marks his first official role as a co-host at the festival, Petrolo is not unfamiliar with the Ariston stage. In 2011, he participated in the duets evening alongside his longtime partner Greg and the band Latte e i suoi derivati, accompanying musician Max Pezzali in a performance that remained memorable for audiences.

Petrolo is currently engaged in a promotional tour for the comedy production "Agata Christian," performing alongside actors Christian De Sica and Maccio Capatonda.

The 2026 Sanremo Festival will run from February 24 to 28, with a diverse lineup of co-hosts scheduled across the various evenings. The cover songs evening represents one of the most popular nights of the festival among viewers.
