Erdogan and Trump discuss Iran, Gaza in phone call

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and U.S. President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation on Monday to discuss regional developments, according to statements from Turkey's presidential office.

The two leaders discussed the situation in Iran and Gaza, as well as a defense agreement involving Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, Turkish officials said.

According to Reuters, citing Turkey's presidential office, Erdogan emphasized to Trump the importance of continuing negotiations with Iran and expressed Ankara's readiness to participate in the diplomatic process.

The call took place as tensions remain elevated across the Middle East, with both Iran and Gaza featuring prominently in regional diplomatic efforts.
