Iran threatens to destroy U.S. digital infrastructure in region if war resumes

Iran's Supreme National Security Council secretary Mohsen Rezaei threatened Saturday to destroy American digital infrastructure in the region if the United States resumes military operations against Tehran.

Speaking to Iranian state television Press TV, Rezaei said the threat specifically targets cables and data processing centers. He stated that the United States possesses valuable assets in the United Arab Emirates and around the Strait of Hormuz that have not yet been added to Iran's target list.

"If war is renewed, we will destroy the cables, data processing centers, artificial intelligence infrastructure, and other facilities in the region," Rezaei said.

Rezaei also addressed recent U.S. diplomatic communications, saying that the American response to Iran's latest proposal was insufficient. He referenced a "seven-day plan" that Iran had presented during United Nations General Assembly meetings, noting that the United States had been in contact through intermediaries including Qatar, Pakistan, and Iraq.

"The Americans communicated with us through Qatar, Pakistan, and Iraq. America accepted some of our conditions, while some conditions remained unresolved," Rezaei said.

The Iranian official warned that anyone seeking to take action against Iran would ultimately face significant economic defeat. He said Iran would work gradually to establish expectations and take necessary economic measures to counter hostile American actions.

Rezaei stated that Iran was fully prepared to demonstrate new capabilities if war broke out again. He characterized the actions of what he called the "Zionist entity" in Gaza as evidence of weakness and desperation.

In earlier remarks published by Press TV on Saturday, Rezaei invoked the historical defeat of Rome by Sassanid King Shapur I. According to Press TV, this reference was made in response to what the channel described as attempts by American officials to characterize an attack on Iran as a civilizational war.
