Man killed in Israeli drone strike on southern Lebanon despite ceasefire

A man died Tuesday following an Israeli drone strike on his vehicle in the Nabatiyé district of southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese officials, despite an active ceasefire between the two countries.

Ali Sabah was struck while driving on a road leading to Doha in the municipality of Kafr Ruman. He sustained severe injuries from the unmanned aerial vehicle attack and was transported to Al Najda al Shaabiya Hospital in Nabatiyé, where he succumbed to his wounds.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported the incident occurred in the afternoon. Israeli forces carried out the operation against the vehicle in the southern region.

According to Lebanese authorities, at least 4,335 people have been killed and 12,277 others wounded in Israeli military attacks against Lebanon since March 2, when combat operations resumed with the Shiite party-militia Hezbollah.

While Israeli operations in southern Lebanon have decreased overall, attacks have persisted in the region and increased during the past week, according to reports from news agencies monitoring the situation.
