Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reaffirmed the kingdom's commitment to Sudan's stability and territorial integrity during a telephone call Tuesday with Sudan's Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.
The crown prince emphasized Saudi Arabia's support for efforts aimed at achieving stability in Sudan while preserving its sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
During the conversation, the crown prince stated that Saudi Arabia backs all efforts to achieve stability in Sudan in a manner that paves the way for comprehensive development and enables displaced persons and refugees to return to their homes.
Sudan has been engulfed in conflict since April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces militia, stemming from disagreements over the unification of the military institution. The fighting has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and the displacement of approximately 13 million people, according to United Nations and international estimates.
