"Iran must immediately stop their highly paid PROXIES in Lebanon from causing trouble. If they don't, we'll hit Iran very hard again, just like we did last week, only harder!!!" Trump posted on Truth Social.
The warning came as Israel and Hezbollah continued military operations in recent days, threatening to undermine a preliminary peace agreement between the United States and Iran. On Saturday, Iran claimed to have closed down certain operations, though fighting persisted.
US Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mike Waltz reinforced the administration's position in a CBS interview on June 21, stating that the United States demands Iran exert influence over Hezbollah to cease attacks on Israel. Waltz said the US considers any failure by Iran to control Hezbollah a violation of agreements between Washington and Tehran.
"The key point here is we have that military option and all options on the table," Waltz said, referring to potential resumption of strikes on Iran.
