Country music star Ella Langley canceled her scheduled concert at BOK Center in Tulsa on Friday evening due to a serious security threat, the venue announced around 4:30 p.m.
The 12-time ACM Award winner was set to perform as part of her Dandelion Tour, with doors scheduled to open at 6:30 p.m. The cancellation came just hours before the show was to begin.
"Due to a serious security threat involving the safety of fans, venue personnel, and the artist, Ella Langley's scheduled performance tonight at BOK Center in Tulsa has been canceled," the venue stated on social media. "The safety and well-being of everyone involved is our absolute priority, and after careful consideration, we have determined that the show cannot proceed."
In an Instagram post, Langley addressed the cancellation directly. "Due to a serious security threat involving the safety of my fans, the venue staff, and my team, the incredibly difficult decision was made to cancel tonight's show. This decision was made under the advisement of local authorities, the venue, and my security team," she wrote. "I know how much time, travel, money, and planning goes into coming to a show, and I can't tell you how sorry I am."
According to the Tulsa Police Department, a call was made threatening the lives of people attending the event. The caller threatened to do "great harm" to concertgoers through "shots fired and bombs." Police conducted a sweep of the venue with bomb dogs and found no explosives.
The Tulsa Police Department posted a statement on Facebook saying they found "no credible threat" following their investigation. Police stated they would never advise cancellation of an event if they could not identify a credible threat. The department clarified that neither police nor the BOK Center made the decision to cancel, explaining that the choice came from Langley's team.
The BOK Center and Langley's representatives said additional information regarding ticket refunds will be shared as soon as it becomes available.
