Laura Pausini reportedly withdraws from Viña del Mar 2027

Italian singer Laura Pausini has reportedly withdrawn from the Viña del Mar Festival 2027, according to sources cited by Chilean media outlet El Filtrador.

Pausini had been confirmed for the upcoming edition of the festival, where organizers had planned to present her with the Gaviota de Platino, or Platinum Seagull award. Sources told media that the organization had been attempting to reverse her decision. "Estaban tratando de revertir su decisión… parece que se bajó," one source said, indicating that efforts to keep her in the lineup had been unsuccessful.

The withdrawal comes as organizers face broader challenges assembling the festival's lineup. According to sources, putting together the program "les ha costado mucho," particularly when it comes to securing comedians and entertainers. Several performers have reportedly opted to participate in other televised festivals that offer better compensation.

Sources indicated that the organization is dissatisfied with the production company handling the festival, citing an inability to bring in the artists they want. The compensation structure has also drawn criticism, with sources suggesting that "Bizarro paga mal," referring to apparent payment issues that may be affecting recruitment efforts.
