Rod Stewart cancels North American tour dates after heart procedure

Rod Stewart, 81, has cancelled multiple shows on his North American tour following a coronary procedure, according to an announcement posted to his Instagram account on Tuesday evening.

The British singer underwent a routine coronary stent placement procedure, which was completed successfully. Medical staff advised Stewart to spend the next four weeks recovering and regaining his full physical condition before returning to performing.

Stewart was in the final stretch of his tour across the United States and Mexico at the time of the procedure. He had three performances scheduled in Mexico for the coming weeks, in Monterrey, Guadalajara, and Mexico City. Additionally, he had multiple shows booked in the United States, including six dates in Las Vegas.

In a statement posted on his Instagram, Stewart's team said he would be unable to continue with the current tour due to the medical recommendation for recovery. The announcement did not specify which individual shows had been affected by the cancellations.

The singer, known for hits including "Maggie May" and "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?", has been performing extensively across North America as part of his tour schedule. According to his medical team, his recovery is progressing satisfactorily and he has already resumed his daily activities, though stage performances remain off limits during the four-week recovery period.
