The Seattle Seahawks won their second Super Bowl championship Sunday night, defeating the New England Patriots 29-13 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Seattle's defense dominated throughout the game, holding New England scoreless through the first three quarters. The Seahawks built a 19-0 lead before the Patriots scored their first touchdown early in the fourth quarter when Drake Maye connected with Mack Hollins.

Jason Myers made five field goals for Seattle. Sam Darnold threw a touchdown pass to AJ Barner. Kenneth Walker carried the ball 27 times for 135 yards on the ground.

The game marked a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX, played in 2015, when the Patriots defeated the Seahawks 28-24. That contest is remembered for Russell Wilson's interception in the final seconds at the goal line. This time, the Seahawks' offense did not face such a critical moment, as their defense and special teams controlled the game from the start.

For the Seahawks, the victory represents their first Super Bowl title since 2014, when they defeated the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII. It is the franchise's second championship overall. The Seahawks had appeared in the Super Bowl three times before Sunday's game.

Drake Maye, the Patriots' quarterback, was making his first Super Bowl appearance in his second NFL season. The 23-year-old was the third overall pick in his draft class. Maye threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown by Uchenna Nwosu in the fourth quarter, extending Seattle's lead.

Sam Darnold, the Seahawks' quarterback, was also a third overall draft pick in his respective year. Unlike Maye's quick rise, Darnold had an irregular early career, changed teams multiple times, suffered injuries, and was considered a disappointment before his turnaround at age 28.

Both teams finished the regular season with 14-3 records. The Seahawks were favored by 4.5 points heading into the game. The game was played at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday night.

The Patriots, seeking their seventh Super Bowl title, were unable to begin a new dynasty with their young quarterback. The Seahawks, led by head coach Mike Macdonald, had the league's best defense in terms of points allowed during the regular season.
