2026 NWSL championship to be held at Audi Field in Washington

The 2026 NWSL championship game will be held at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, November 21, according to multiple sources within the league. The venue is the home of the Washington Spirit.

This marks the first time the final match will be hosted on the East Coast since 2022, when Audi Field also hosted the championship. The league and the Washington Spirit are expected to make an official announcement on Wednesday, June 3rd, with additional details regarding championship week festivities to be announced at a later date.

The Washington Spirit have demonstrated strong attendance at their home stadium this season. The team sold out three games at Audi Field in 2026, most recently on Saturday in a 2-1 home win over the Seattle Reign. That match drew 19,365 people and was the highest-grossing match in club history, according to the team's president of soccer operations Haley Carter. The Spirit announced the sellout 11 days before kickoff, marking the earliest sellout announcement in club history.

The Washington Spirit's attendance record extends beyond this season. The club sold out three matches in each of the 2024 and 2025 seasons, including both 2025 playoff matches. The three sellouts in 2026 match the franchise record set in both 2024 and 2025.

The Spirit have reached the championship game three times in the past five seasons, winning the title once during that span.
