Gotham FC defeats Bay FC 3-0 in NWSL match
Gotham FC scored three goals in the first half to beat Bay FC on Saturday in Harrison.
Jaedyn Shaw and Tierna Davidson scored as defending champion Gotham improved to 5-2-3. Seattle extended its scoreless streak to five games.

Gotham FC defeated Seattle Reign 2-0 on Friday night at Lumen Field, extending the defending champions' unbeaten run to five matches.
Jaedyn Shaw opened the scoring in the 24th minute off an assist from Savannah McCaskill. Tierna Davidson doubled the lead in the 57th minute from a recycled corner kick. Davidson, the club captain and defender, scored her second career regular-season goal.
Goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger recorded her seventh clean sheet of the season, the most in the NWSL, with two saves. Gotham improved to 5-2-3 with the victory, marking the team's fourth win in its current five-match unbeaten streak. The club extended its NWSL record to seven shutouts in 10 games.
Shaw scored for the third consecutive game. McCaskill recorded her sixth career assist with Gotham and the 15th of her regular-season career.
Seattle (3-4-2) remained winless in five games and extended its scoreless streak to five consecutive matches. The Reign had not scored in 499 minutes entering the match. Late in the game, veteran substitute Brittany Ratcliffe had a 1-on-1 chance that was saved by Berger, and Maddie Dahlien was tripped in the box with no penalty call awarded. Seattle recorded 0.8 expected goals for the match and did not create many real chances until late in the game.
Gotham FC acting head coach Shaun Harris led the team in the absence of head coach Juan Carlos Amorós, who remained in New Jersey with his newborn child and family. Harris described the performance as "really positive" and noted that Shaw's early goal "really settled us down."
In other NWSL matches Friday night, Kansas City defeated Houston 3-0, and San Diego Wave beat Washington Spirit 2-1 to take the top spot in the standings.
