Mallory Swanson is returning to the U.S. women's national team for the first time since August 2024. The Chicago Stars forward will reunite with Sophia Wilson and Trinity Rodman, collectively referred to as "Triple Espresso," for a pair of friendlies against Brazil next month.

The fixtures will take place in São Paulo on June 6 and Fortaleza on June 9. The matches could mark the first time Swanson, Wilson and Rodman play together since the USWNT's gold-medal victory over Brazil at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, where Swanson scored the lone goal to secure the gold.

Following the Olympic triumph, Wilson and Swanson went on maternity leave and have made their way back to playing this year. Swanson scored her first goal since becoming a mother in her second NWSL game of the season.

USWNT manager Emma Hayes named a 26-player roster for the Brazil trip on Wednesday. The roster includes four changes from the group that played three matches against Japan last month. The goalkeepers selected are Claudia Dickey of Seattle Reign FC, Mandy McGlynn of Utah Royals, and Phallon Tullis-Joyce of Manchester United.

Brazil will serve as the hosts for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. Hayes said in a statement that the trip offers players opportunities to experience Brazil's culture, stadiums and passionate fans while preparing for World Cup competition. "Few challenges in women's international soccer compare to facing Brazil in Brazil, so we're excited for the valuable lessons this experience will bring," Hayes said.
