The United States defeated Canada 6-2 on Sunday in the para ice hockey gold medal game at the 2026 Winter Paralympics in Milan, securing the nation's fifth consecutive Paralympic title in the sport.

Jack Wallace led the American effort with a hat-trick and an assist. Kayden Beasley, Declan Farmer, and Brody Roybal also scored for the U.S. Canada's Liam Hickey and another player accounted for the visitors' two goals.

The victory completed an unprecedented sweep for Team USA across all three ice hockey tournaments at the 2026 Winter Games. The United States won gold in the Olympic men's competition, the Olympic women's competition, and the Paralympic competition—marking the first time all three hockey tournaments featured a U.S.-versus-Canada gold medal game in the same year, with the Americans victorious in each.

The U.S. became the first nation to claim five consecutive Paralympic ice hockey titles. The team also became the first country to secure a clean sweep of all three Paralympic and Olympic hockey events at a single tournament.

Wallace addressed the crowd after the final whistle. "This team is so special," he told NBC's Andrea Joyce. "We love each other. This team grinded it out, a gritty game. It was unbelievable. I love these guys so much."

The United States dominated the Paralympic tournament throughout the competition, posting lopsided victories over Italy, Germany, and China in the opening rounds before defeating the Czech Republic in the semifinals.

For Canada, Sunday's loss marked a third consecutive defeat in a Paralympic ice hockey final. Canada's only para ice hockey gold medal came in Turin in 2006. China claimed the bronze medal, securing a second successive medal in the event.

Captain Josh Pauls was part of the U.S. team that won the title. The Olympic men's gold medal, won three weeks earlier, represented the first U.S. Olympic men's ice hockey gold since the "Miracle on Ice" in 1980. At the Paralympics, the U.S. has won six of the past seven Winter Paralympics editions.

Ice hockey at the Paralympics is classified as an open-gender sport, and there is currently no separate women's division in the competition.
