Taylor Swift has requested that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office cancel a trademark for "Swift Home" filed by bedding company Cathay Home, arguing the mark could mislead consumers into believing she had endorsed the products.
Swift's legal team, representing TAS Rights Management LLC, filed the challenge on Wednesday. The filing, reviewed by multiple outlets, contends that Cathay Home's styling of the word "Swift" closely resembles the singer's trademarked cursive signature. "The word 'SWIFT' is displayed in [Cathay Home's] mark in a stylized cursive font which is highly similar to the manner in which 'SWIFT' is displayed in the registrations noted above, which is a custom font intended to approximate the Artist's handwriting," the document states.
Cathay Home, founded in New York approximately two decades ago, applied for the "Swift Home" trademark for its bedding items. The company sells products through major retailers. The phrase appears to play on the common expression "sweet home," substituting Swift's surname instead.
Swift's legal representatives argued that the "Swift Home" mark creates a false association with the singer that may lead consumers to believe she endorsed or was affiliated with Cathay Home's products. TAS Rights Management LLC filed disputes against Cathay Home in November 2025 and again on February 11, 2026, according to records reviewed by Rolling Stone.
The Patent and Trademark Office will review Swift's challenge to determine whether the trademark should be cancelled. Cathay Home and Swift's representatives have been contacted for further comment on the matter.
