OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's home attacked twice in 72 hours

The home of Sam Altman, chief executive of OpenAI, was targeted in two separate attacks within a 72-hour period in San Francisco, authorities said.
On April 10, a 20-year-old identified as Daniel Alejandro Moreno-Gama, originally from Texas, threw a Molotov cocktail at the metal gate of Altman's property in the Russian Hill neighborhood shortly before 4 a.m., according to San Francisco police. The incendiary device ignited a fire on the exterior gate, which security personnel extinguished before it spread. No injuries were reported.
After fleeing the scene, Moreno-Gama was apprehended approximately an hour later near OpenAI's headquarters in Mission Bay. At that location, he made explicit threats to set fire to the building, authorities said. He was arrested and faced suspicion of attempted murder, criminal threats, and possession or fabrication of a destructive device. Prosecutors had not filed formal charges as of the reporting date.
A second incident occurred on the night of April 11 into April 12, when a Honda sedan traveled through Russian Hill streets and stopped near Altman's property. A passenger extended an arm from the vehicle window and fired gunshots, according to reports from the San Francisco Police Department. Details regarding injuries, damage, or arrests related to the shooting were not provided in available accounts.
Altman is widely recognized as a founder of ChatGPT and leads OpenAI, the artificial intelligence company behind the technology.
