Tiziano Ferro will be the super guest performer at the opening night of the Sanremo Music Festival 2026, director Carlo Conti announced Tuesday via Instagram.

Ferro will appear February 24 at Teatro Ariston alongside Conti, co-host Laura Pausini, and co-host Can Yaman. Conti said in a video posted to social media that he was "very happy" Ferro accepted the invitation.

The singer from Latina returns to Sanremo after six years. He previously appeared as a guest across all five nights of the 2026 festival edition. Ferro has made six appearances at the Ariston as a super guest but has never competed as a contestant.

Ferro recently released his album "Sono un grande" and is preparing for a stadium tour across Italy. The tour begins May 30 at Stadio Teghil in Lignano Sabbiadoro and concludes July 12 at Stadio San Filippo in Messina.

In an exclusive interview with FanPage, Ferro discussed his relationship with co-host Pausini. When asked why he was announced as a guest rather than a competitor, Ferro explained that Pausini holds a theory about career hierarchy at Sanremo. According to Ferro, Pausini believes that at a certain point in an artist's career, there exists a hierarchy that limits participation to guest roles rather than competition. Ferro said that whenever he mentions wanting to compete, Pausini "slaps his hands" and tells him no, preferring to see him in other roles at the festival.
