U.S. President Donald Trump will address the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Wednesday, marking his first in-person appearance at the annual gathering since 2020. His virtual address last year, delivered days after returning to the White House, drew significant attention at the event.
Trump is attending this year alongside Argentine President Javier Milei, who will also speak on the same day. Both leaders will occupy the main stage in succession, according to the official agenda. The two presidents share a critical stance toward multilateralism and international institutions.
The U.S. delegation accompanying Trump is the largest in American history for the World Economic Forum, according to organizers. Trump's arrival occurs amid diplomatic tensions between the United States and the European Union over territorial and trade disputes.
The forum is expecting close to 3,000 cross-sector leaders to attend the annual meeting. Organizers anticipate a record 400 political leaders, 850 top company bosses and 100 tech pioneers will be present. Among those confirmed to attend are J.P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.
The World Economic Forum's annual slogan is "Committed to Improving the State of the State of the World." The gathering brings together some of the world's wealthiest and most powerful individuals to discuss global challenges and solutions.
