Turkish police conducted multiple drug enforcement operations across the country, resulting in the seizure of over 150 kilograms of narcotics and the arrest of several suspects.
In Istanbul, officers from the Narcotics Crimes Unit, supported by the Intelligence Division, carried out simultaneous operations targeting a business premises and a vehicle in Esenyurt. The operation resulted in the seizure of 143 kilograms of drugs and the detention of five suspects, who were taken to police headquarters for processing.
In Aydın's Sultanhisar district, police from the Provincial Police Department's Narcotics Crimes Unit seized 2 kilograms and 889 grams of cocaine during an operation targeting drug trafficking and use. One suspect, identified as İ.D., was detained and faced charges of manufacturing and trafficking narcotics as well as drug use. Following processing at police headquarters, the suspect was referred to judicial authorities and remanded in custody by the court.
In Diyarbakır, the Directorate of Security's Public Order Branch Motorcycle Police Teams conducted operations to prevent drug trafficking and use. Officers searched a vehicle in the Merkez Yenişehir district based on suspicion and discovered 4 kilograms and 100 grams of cannabis resin in 47 pieces. One suspect was detained during the operation and subsequently charged with manufacturing and trafficking narcotics. The suspect was remanded in custody by the court following judicial review.
The operations were part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies across multiple provinces to combat drug manufacturing and distribution networks.
