Russian drone strikes hit UN aid convoy in Kherson

UN humanitarian vehicles attacked in Kherson; four civilians injured in separate drone strike Thursday morning.

Russian forces attacked vehicles belonging to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Kherson using a drone, according to officials.

Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported the strike on Telegram. The attack targeted UN humanitarian mission vehicles in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson. Information regarding casualties from this strike was being verified at the time of the report.

In a separate incident Thursday morning, Russian troops struck a passenger car with a drone in Kherson, injuring four civilians. The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office reported that the attack occurred at approximately 8:20 a.m. on May 15. The four civilians sustained injuries of varying severity and were receiving medical care.

The prosecutor's office launched a pre-trial investigation into the incident as a war crime under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The Kherson City Military Administration also reported that Russian forces attacked the Central district with a drone, striking a vehicle belonging to one of the city council's municipal enterprises. No injuries were reported in that attack.

According to earlier reports, Russian forces used drones, artillery, and aircraft to strike 42 settlements across the Kherson region on May 14, killing two people and injuring 13 others.
