Jeanine John Taele, 38, of Downey, California, was observed by plainclothes federal agents walking throughout the grounds of Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes, taking photographs and videos while appearing to monitor security-planning activities, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
When sheriff's deputies detained Taele, they found a loaded 16-round magazine containing ammunition in his pocket. A loaded pistol was recovered from his vehicle in the golf course parking lot. On Monday, law enforcement searched his home in Downey and discovered a plethora of weapons and materials, including an illegally modified AR platform rifle, a .45-caliber pistol, body armor, high-capacity magazines, additional ammunition, and notebooks containing what authorities described as "concerning statements."
Taele was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm and possessing prohibited ammunition, including armor-piercing rounds. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Taele pleaded guilty Tuesday to three weapons charges related to Sunday's arrest and a second-degree robbery charge stemming from an alleged November incident. The El Segundo Police Department was also investigating Taele in connection with a robbery case.
Trump was scheduled to arrive at the golf course Tuesday evening for the fundraising dinner. The sheriff's department announced the arrest as Trump was en route to California aboard Air Force One.
