Drone strikes high-rise building in Moscow, 6 km from Kremlin

A drone hit a residential building on Mosfilmovskaya Street in western Moscow early May 4, damaging the 36th floor. No casualties reported.

A drone struck a high-rise residential building in Moscow's western district early May 4, according to Sergey Sobyanin, the city's mayor.

Sobyanin said on his Telegram channel that the drone crashed into a building on Mosfilmovskaya Street. He stated there were no casualties from the strike.

Russian social media reports indicated the drone damaged three rooms on the 36th floor of the building. Eyewitnesses cited by the Telegram channel reported that part of the building's facade fell onto a car parked below.

According to analysis by the ASTRA Telegram channel, the damaged building is approximately 6 kilometers from the Kremlin.

The strike occurred as part of a broader overnight drone campaign. The Russian Defense Ministry said air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 117 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over Russian regions between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on May 3 and 7:00 a.m. Moscow time on May 4.

According to the Defense Ministry, drones were shot down over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Voronezh, Volgograd, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Smolensk, and Ulyanovsk regions, as well as Moscow and its urban district.
