Russian airstrikes struck the Zaporizhzhia region over a 24-hour period, killing at least one person and injuring dozens of civilians, according to Ukrainian authorities.
An apartment building in Zaporizhzhia came under attack, leaving six people injured including a child. The strike damaged the residential structure, prompting emergency response efforts at the scene.
In a separate overnight attack on Zaporizhzhia, nine people were injured as Russian forces continued bombardment of the city. The cumulative toll from strikes across the region reached at least 29 injured over the past day, with one fatality reported.
The injury count rose further as additional casualties were documented. At least 10 people were injured in connection with one of the strikes, including two children among the wounded.
Russian forces also targeted rescue workers who were responding to the aftermath of the strikes. The attack on emergency personnel occurred as crews worked to assist victims and assess damage from the initial bombardment.
The attacks were part of ongoing Russian military operations in the Zaporizhzhia region, which has faced repeated strikes in recent weeks. Ukrainian officials documented the incidents and casualty figures as emergency services continued response operations.
