Bosnia and Herzegovina became the first national team to announce its squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Monday, when coach Sergej Barbarez unveiled the 26-player roster that will represent the country at the tournament hosted across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The squad includes experienced striker Edin Dzeko, who at 40 years old will compete in another World Cup. Dzeko has played for major European clubs including Roma, Manchester City and Inter Milan. He currently plays for Schalke 04 in Germany's second division.
The goalkeepers named are Nikola Vasilj of FC St. Pauli, Martin Zlomislić of HNK Rijeka and Osman Hadžikić of Slaven Belupo.
The defensive contingent comprises Sead Kolašinac of Atalanta, Amar Dedić of Benfica, Nihad Mujakić of Gaziantep, Nikola Katić of Schalke 04, Tarik Muharemović of Sassuolo, Stjepan Radeljić of HNK Rijeka, Dennis Hadžikadunić of Sampdoria and Nidal Čelik of Lens.
The midfield includes Amir Hadziahmetovic of Hull City, Ivan Sunjic of Pafos, Ivan Basic of Astana, Dzenis Burnic of Karlsruhe, Ermin Mahmic of Slovan Liberec, Benjamin Tahirovic of Brøndby, Amar Memic of Viktoria Plzeň and Armin Gigovic of Young Boys.
The attacking players selected are Kerim Alajbegovic of Red Bull Salzburg, Esmir Bajraktarevic of PSV and Ermedin Demirovic of VfB Stuttgart.
