Liverpool FC has released images of a permanent memorial dedicated to forward Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva, who died in a car accident in Spain last July. The brothers, aged 28 and 25 respectively, were killed on July 3 in the Spanish province of Zamora.

Titled "Forever 20", the memorial will be positioned on 97 Avenue at Anfield, close to the stadium's Main Stand. The location holds particular significance, as it is where thousands of tributes were spontaneously left by supporters in the days following the brothers' deaths. Flowers, scarves, flags, letters, paintings, and shirts from various clubs were deposited at the site.

The memorial's centrepiece is a flowing heart sculpture, designed as a reference to Jota's iconic goal celebration. When viewed from different angles, the sculpture reveals the numbers 20 and 30, which were the shirt numbers worn by Diogo Jota and André Silva respectively during their playing careers. The memorial also incorporates the lyrics to the song that Liverpool fans sing in honour of Jota during the 20th minute of every match.

According to Liverpool FC, the memorial "celebrates their lives, their bond, and the love and respect felt by family, team-mates and supporters across the world." The club designed the sculpture to include personal touches referring to Diogo Jota's life and to serve as a permanent tribute to both brothers.

Diogo Jota was a Portugal international who played as a forward for Liverpool. His brother André Silva played for Portuguese second division club Penafiel. The permanent memorial represents the club's commitment to honouring the memory of both brothers and acknowledging the impact they had on those around them.
